In the Milky Way

I haven't heard a word from her
In a fortnight and a day
Not a trace of where she is
Or if she's gone away

Not a single thing she owned
Was taken from her room
Not a note to say good-bye
Or if she'll be home soon

The rumor is she couldn't stay
She had to leave that very day
To sing and dance among the stars
In the Milky Way

Celia saw a shooting star
Just the other night
She said it looked a lot like her
And filled the sky with light

Devon said he thought he heard her
Whisper in his ear
In the shadows someone stood
And then she disappeared

She told me once, I just don't fit
In a world so dimly lit
I want to fly among the stars
In the Milky Way

We hope she's happier
As she floats among the stars
We hope she's happier
As she says hello to Mars

Happily she came back today
And told us tales of far away
How she danced among the stars
In the Milky Way

She told us all, I finally fit
In a world that's brightly lit
I learned to sing among the stars
In the Milky Way
I learned to to dance among the stars
In the Milky Way
I learned to fly among the stars
